CM Launches Tripura School Quality Framework to Enhance Education Standards Across the State
Agartala, July 5, 2025: In a significant step toward strengthening the education system in Tripura, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today launched the Tripura School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework (TSQAAF) at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala. The initiative aims to systematically uplift the quality of education in schools and align the state’s education policies with national standards.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha emphasized that quality education remains a top priority for the state government. He stated that recruitment of qualified teachers through the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) has already been initiated, and more appointments are on the horizon to fill vacant posts and meet growing demands.
“Textbook learning alone cannot shape the quality of life. Education must instill moral values and prepare students to contribute positively to society,”
said Dr. Saha.
The newly launched TSQAAF will act as a comprehensive quality benchmarking system for schools, enabling evaluation and accreditation based on performance, innovation, inclusivity, and student development. It is expected to drive schools toward holistic development rather than textbook-focused outcomes.
Highlighting the importance of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Dr. Saha noted that the framework aligns Tripura’s education strategy with the national vision for a unified, flexible, and skill-oriented curriculum. “A common curriculum and uniform question papers will enable students from Tripura to compete on a national platform,” he remarked.
Dr. Saha, who also holds the Education portfolio in the state, pointed out that under TSQAAF, individual schools will be evaluated and recognized based on measurable quality indicators. The initiative is designed not only to assess academic performance but also to ensure that teachers go beyond traditional teaching methods, engaging students in practical knowledge, values, and socio-emotional learning.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for education goes beyond textbooks. It’s about building character, understanding values, and contributing to nation-building. The new framework will help us take this vision to every classroom,”
he added.
The Chief Minister also stressed the role of teachers in shaping the future generation. He urged educators to take responsibility for nurturing students not just academically but also socially and emotionally.
“Many students excel in academics but struggle with real-life challenges. Education should be about preparing students to succeed in life — through sports, community service, and leadership development. Schools must teach problem-solving and civic responsibility,”
said Dr. Saha.
He praised the collaborative efforts of the education department and affiliated institutions in developing the TSQAAF and thanked all stakeholders for their dedication to improving the education landscape in Tripura.
Present at the launch event were Special Secretary of the Education Department Raval Hemendra Kumar, Director of Education N. C. Sharma, CEO of SBI Foundation Sanjay Prakash, and other dignitaries, education officers, and academic experts.
The framework marks a new chapter in Tripura’s educational journey, promising to bring structural reforms, equitable standards, and enhanced accountability. It reflects the state’s commitment to nurturing a future-ready generation, capable of thriving in a dynamic and interconnected world.
