Tripura Mega Teacher Recruitment 2025 Kicks Off to Fill 1615 Vacancies Before Puja
Agartala | July 15, 2025
In a major administrative decision aimed at strengthening Tripura’s public sector workforce, the state cabinet has greenlit a massive recruitment drive ahead of Durga Puja 2025. A total of 1,615 new positions—comprising 700 graduate teachers and 915 postgraduate teachers—will be filled in both the education and health sectors, marking one of the largest hiring waves in recent years.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, following the cabinet meeting on Monday evening, emphasized that this initiative is aligned with his government’s vision of improving service delivery and creating job opportunities for the state’s educated youth.
“Our focus is on both employment generation and quality public services. This recruitment will ease the burden on schools and healthcare institutions that have long faced manpower shortages,” CM Saha stated.
The recruitment comes at a strategically opportune time, just weeks before Durga Puja, the most celebrated festival in the region. Officials within the Education Department clarified that recruitment notifications will be issued by the Tripura Teachers’ Recruitment Board (TRBT) in the coming days, followed by examinations and appointments.
The cabinet also hinted at fast-tracked procedures, including relaxation of certain eligibility documentation timelines, to ensure onboarding is completed before the festivities begin.
Key Highlights of the Tripura Mega Teacher Recruitment 2025:
- Total Posts: 1,615 (Graduate: 700 | Postgraduate: 915)
- Departments Involved: Education and Health
- Recruiting Body: TRBT (Tripura Teachers’ Recruitment Board)
- Expected Joining Timeline: Before Durga Puja (October 2025)
- Application Window: Likely to open by end of July
Educationists in the state have welcomed the move but urged the government to ensure transparency and merit-based appointments. “While the numbers look good on paper, the real challenge lies in execution—especially maintaining academic standards,” said Dr. Arpita Debbarma, education analyst and senior professor at Tripura University.
On the healthcare side, an additional proposal to recruit medical officers and nursing staff is also under cabinet consideration and may follow in August.
The recruitment announcement also follows recent criticism from opposition parties about the state’s rising unemployment rate. This move is being seen as both a governance and political strategy, with elections to the Autonomous District Council (ADC) looming early next year.
As per insiders, CM Saha is also preparing a blueprint to recruit engineers and technical staff under various development schemes by the end of 2025.
The buzz among job seekers is already visible on social media platforms, where aspirants are eagerly awaiting the official advertisement.
Stay tuned for detailed guidelines, exam patterns, and preparation tips once the notification is released by TRBT.
