Agartala, June 25:

Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesday called upon party workers to remain humble, strengthen booth-level organization, and foster strong ties with the people to ensure continued public support and lasting political success.

Addressing the Parichay Parv of the newly elected committees of 8-Town Baradowali Mandal at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan, Dr. Saha emphasized that true leadership is measured not by grand gestures but by humility and direct engagement with the community.

“A leader or party is accepted by the people only when they remain down to earth. Without that connection, public support will not follow,” Dr. Saha said.

He urged the workers to focus on strengthening the booth network and maintaining cordial relations with the local residents, fellow karyakartas, and leaders.

Reflecting on the political history of the state, the Chief Minister highlighted how people had rejected the previous regimes of the CPIM and Congress due to their disconnect with public welfare.

“In contrast, the BJP has gained the people’s trust through good governance and meaningful work under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he noted.

Dr. Saha praised the Prime Minister for his decisive and quiet style of leadership. “PM Modi doesn’t indulge in loud speeches or big promises—he lets his work speak. Operation Sindoor is a perfect example of silent efficiency,” he said, also stressing the importance of respecting women and improving law and order, which the state government has prioritized.

Highlighting Tripura’s recent developmental strides, Dr. Saha announced that the state has now achieved full literacy. “We must now focus on holistic development,” he said,

adding that Tripura has the second-highest Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) in the Northeast after Assam, and ranks just after Sikkim in per capita income growth.

He also cited Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit to Odisha, where the PM encouraged citizens to visit Tripura and witness its transformation.

“Our development should be visible to all, and that is only possible when we continue working sincerely at every level,” Dr. Saha said.

Reiterating his message, he concluded:

“We must treat everyone equally, speak thoughtfully, and never consider anyone as different. Only through such inclusive and grounded leadership can we truly win people’s hearts.”
