North Tripura Launches AI-powered aspirational boards inspire schoolchildren to stay in school
Dasda, Tripura | July 30, 2025 — In an innovative step to address school dropouts and inspire young minds, North Tripura’s Dasda block has introduced AI-powered “Aspirational Boards” in government-run schools. The boards display students’ dream careers — from astronauts and doctors to engineers and athletes — in personalized digital posters generated using artificial intelligence.
The initiative is part of the Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) under the NITI Aayog, and aims to tackle the region’s staggering 70% school dropout rate, one of the highest in the country. Students are asked about their career goals, and AI tools are used to visually project them achieving those dreams. These customized boards are then placed outside classrooms and corridors to serve as daily motivation.
“When a child sees themselves dressed as a doctor or scientist, it sparks a deeper belief that they can truly become one,” said a senior education officer from North Tripura.
The aspirational boards project is currently active in six schools across the block, and officials say it’s already leading to improved attendance, curiosity in class, and a boost in self-esteem among students from economically and socially disadvantaged communities.
Teachers and parents alike have welcomed the program, calling it a “game changer” for rural education. Plans are underway to expand the initiative to more schools across tribal and remote areas of Tripura.
