Indian Embassy Issues Safety Advisory Amid Rising Physical Attacks against Indians in Ireland

Dublin/New Delhi, August 2, 2025: Amid a concerning rise in violent assaults targeting Indian nationals, the Indian Embassy in Dublin has issued a safety advisory urging members of the Indian community in Ireland to exercise heightened caution.

The advisory follows multiple reports of racially motivated physical attacks, particularly in the Tallaght area of Dublin, where several Indian citizens have allegedly been injured by local youths in recent weeks.

“There has been an increase in instances of physical attacks reported against Indian citizens in Ireland recently,” the embassy stated in its official communication. “All Indian citizens in Ireland are advised to take reasonable precautions for their personal security and avoid deserted areas, especially during odd hours.”

“Since the last few days, the situation has gotten worse for Indians living in Ireland. While walking on the streets, they throw racist comments like, ‘Go back to your country’ or ‘Stop stealing our jobs,’ and it has become common to face racism as an Indian in Ireland.”

She also said,


“Ireland collects tax in the name of social service from employees, and the majority of the money collected through this tax is provided to the unemployed — most of whom are Irish. Whereas, most of the taxpayers are Indians.”

She further said,

“People coming through the donkey route and taking refuge from South Asian countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh are often mistaken for Indians. Sometimes Indians are attacked for this reason as well.”
